Abergarw Farm

1881 - 1901

printers.harnessed.reliving

Lay adjacent to and NE of the Brynmenyn Level Crossing - Actually outside the parish. Confused with Cae Garw which it is named in both 1871 and 1891 Census record. The two farms are shown as some way apart in the 1901 census.

Census Records

Shown as a Blacksmith's residence, so no longer a farm. However, on RG11, Piece 05044, Image 00102, it is shown as a Farm, with Jenkin Morgan, aged 42 as the sole resident on the day.

The 1881 Census entry for Abergarw Shop shows Ann Leyshon as "Formerly Farmers"

Presumption is that Ann and William Westcombe were married and the two children were their offspring. Perhaps Edmond was the son of a missing child of Ann and Thomas? Note: Some confusion here within the 1891 Census. Could be that Butler was actually in Cae Garw Farm.
