Bryn Mawr Farm

1881 - 1939

The 1911 Census shows the Head of the family as being a 'Coal Hewer', However, the Census Enumerator has written that he was a Farmer. This fact needs to be confirmed. It could be that they had a smallholding and called themselves farmers because of this. By 1911, many of the so-called farms were being consolidated into adjacent properties. Whether this was because of the economic situation, or a convenience is not known. The 1939 Register has few details shown, so what happened is unclear.
